Happy Friday!! I have not taken a breath, or caught up ...but the Friday Features must go on!! I often think of putting a "pause" on the Friday Features when i get overwhelmed with them ...but its so much now a part of the life of Soul & Story ...that it even feels weird now if i'm a little bit late on Friday mornings. i like to post around 10 am central time ...and fans let me know if I'm late. I often will get a text "Did I miss the Friday Feature this morning." I often find ...even if people don't necessarily order, they love seeing them, seeing what I've written, and enjoying reading about the curated pieces.
The pieces I chose for today come straight from the last italy trip ...and a perfect little companion for summer! I'm pretty tight on the stock on these, so they will probably sell out ...but I just love them, and I think you guys will too. Each one is a little Venetian work of art. The Venetian Glass Guild / Society is very tightly guarded ...and so far, only one outsider has been granted access ...our very own outstanding American glass artists Dale Chihuly. You may have seen his work at The Bellagio in Vegas, all over Seattle (his home), and currently several sculptural pieces currently installed in the Venetian Lagoon as we speak.
Needless to say, Venetian Glass is a beautifully respected and guarded art ...and each piece of authentic Venetian Glass is 100% handcrafted and meticulously made. I wanted an affordable representation and way to celebrate this fabulous art ...so I chose these beautiful heart earrings ...in a few colors to choose from. These can be worn as compliments to other pieces ...and even in second holes to highlight a statement set. Any way you style these ...they will work. Happy Friday from Italy!! I thought being back in Italy I might re-surface a design I did last year while also in Italy. This is the third iteration of these beauties in a different colorway, and they continue to be such a popular design. Lightweight, and yet just enough of a statement, these have become a fan favorite, and while they are very labor intensive, I do love the end results!!
Its always fun to choose color combinations, but when I saw these gorgeous Red Onyx, I felt like they chose the Turquoise accent color themselves! Great for summer, but equally beautiful through the winter to incorporate pops of color, these are sure to become your easy go-to year-round favorites. Enjoy!!

Happy Friday !! A great simple layering necklace is a perfect summer staple. I have been in Italy for almost three weeks, and loving my layering pieces I can wear with just about anything. Often in summer we want light, airy ...and jewelry that doesn't weigh us down or create extra heat. I love light layering pieces for this exact reason.
These beautiful Raw Australian Opals are a perfect light summer layer, plus the earthy feel of the opals are perfect for an easy, breezy summer wardrobe. Opals are a little different than a traditional "crystaline" gemstone ...and are called "amorphous." Happy Friday !! I always like having a set of earrings that are appropriate for the season that I'm in ...and I can throw on every day without having to think too much!! I'm heading to Alexandria this weekend, and it will be a very quick trip up and back, and I want to pack really light.
