Happy Friday !! A great simple layering necklace is a perfect summer staple. I have been in Italy for almost three weeks, and loving my layering pieces I can wear with just about anything. Often in summer we want light, airy ...and jewelry that doesn't weigh us down or create extra heat. I love light layering pieces for this exact reason.

Opals are a little different than a traditional "crystaline" gemstone ...and are called "amorphous." While not considered a lightweight stone, they are indeed lighter than their crystaline, more structured counterparts. Happy Friday from Italy!! I thought being back in Italy I might re-surface a design I did last year while also in Italy. This is the third iteration of these beauties in a different colorway, and they continue to be such a popular design. Lightweight, and yet just enough of a statement, these have become a fan favorite, and while they are very labor intensive, I do love the end results!!

Its always fun to choose color combinations, but when I saw these gorgeous Red Onyx, I felt like they chose the Turquoise accent color themselves!
