Well, this isn't the first time I've had to make up a Friday Feature on the fly ...but it IS the first time I've had to do it out of the country completely away from my business with no samples or products. We could not get back last week due to Snowpocalypse ..(or in my case, IceMageddon in Nashville). So I needed to design a piece ...worthy of Friday Feature status ...with only the materials I had here in Italy. I have been working on the Story Stack bracelets ...so I decided to pull from that palette and create a pair of every day go-to basic earrings, easy to wear, that could also be everything to all people, places & things!!

A good taupe neutral IS "all the things," ...and probably one of my go-to colors for my winter basics like sweaters and layers. I tend to go way more neutral in the winter since I like to boldly accessorize. These beautiful little Mother-of-Pearl carved shells are a wonderful companion to both a neutral palette ...and also bold choices. They will blend in even with the most out-there jewelry, as they are both subtle and complementary.

I had to add a leeeetle Tiger Eye stone for its metaphysical properties of grounding, lifting emotional spirits, and courage. I myself find that especially encouraging as the worry of my Nashville house in the middle of the ice storm without power continues to mount. We are the worst power outage in the country, and it pretty much looks like an ice-war-zone.

Please send some thoughts and prayers for the people in Nashville without power. Especially for the homeless to find shelter, and for the infrastructure to hold.

Happy Friday! For the last Friday of the year, I wanted a special Friday Feature that symbolized the end and the beginning ...moving into a new year. Tourmaline is the perfect gemstone for transitions.
