October Barware - Culver Double Rocks Glasses

Happy Fall !! Its officially fall as evidenced by the gorgeous orange & red leaves falling outside my house ...not to mention the cooler temps (this morning in the thirties). It makes me want to curl up with a spicy brown bit of yumminess!! I was recently in Italy and sharing a Negroni with a huge Negroni aficionado. It wasn't my favorite and he reminded me it was definitely an acquired taste, so I set out to create a twist on a Negroni that I might really enjoy. Enter the Boulevardier ...which is essentially, a Bourbon Negroni. Still ...that really didn't take it far enough out of true "negroni-territory" for me though, and I still couldn't get on board with the bitterness of the Campari. Soooo, my solution ...Cardamaro !! A fine Italian spirit, of the bitters family, but closer to the herbal profile of a Benedictine with its flavors & spiciness. Cardamaro offers a bit more of sweet to offset the bitters, making traditional bourbon drinkers much happier as we tend to prefer sweet over bitter. Black Walnut bitters gave it just that added extra zoom zoom I was looking for ...to what now has become my favorite fall "go-to" cocktail !! I'm quite a fan. The recipe is really fab, and works both in a coupe served neat, or in a rocks glass over an ice ball. And lets talk a second about these glasses !!!!

While there aren't near as many traditional "rules" any more for serving ...(I tend to ignore most rules in fact), there is nothing like the perfection of the quintessential 1960's "glory era of entertaining," rocks glass!! These absolute stunner Culver double rocks are not only perfect for any 2 oz drink (be it a single or double), you can use these even for water, juice or mocktails. Whatever you decide, you will adore these on your bar!! (*Please handwash all your mid-century barware). Check the recipe out online, where you can also find the glasses.
