September Barware - Mid-Century "Gold & White Leaves" Martini Glasses

Happy Bourbon month!! Yes, its September, and the whole month is devoted to the great American spirit of Bourbon!! There is SOOOO much one can do with Bourbon ...drink it neat, rocks, just one rock / whiskey stone (my preference), or get creative with a plethora of Bourbon cocktails!! (soooo many to choose from) ...but I chose one of the best and a personal favorite ...The Manhattan. Of course, I had to put a fall twist on it, so see my recipe on the website, but first let's talk about glasses.

Barware used to be much more conventional, with "rules" on specific drinks (for specific reasons I might add), but many of those rules have been thrown right out the window in recent years as spirits have skyrocketed in popularity ...along with barware. Traditionally, a Manhattan is a bourbon version of a martini ...so it should be served in a Martini glass!! While bartenders choose coupes, rocks glasses, even roly-polys, I prefer it in the glass for which is was designed. Enter in today's barware selection. Gorgeous, gold & white leaves, perfect for fall, these fab Martini glasses can be used for any traditional Martini recipe (vodka, gin, a cosmo or apple-cider-tini), and of course, our Manhattan. Check the recipe out below, where you can also find a link to the glasses.

Smoked Cardamom Manhattan

2 oz of your favorite bourbon

1/2 oz of sweet vermouth

several dashes of cardamom bitters

*Build on ice, strain into glass, smoke in smokehouse if you have one. This drink is FINE without smoking it, don’t let the smoke keep you from making it. If you don’t have a smokehouse, skip it!!
