I've Dyed and gone to Shibori Heaven

Sometimes the best art doesn’t always happen on a canvas …..as people paint with light in beautiful photographs, gemstones in beautiful jewelry, and with dyes in beautiful textiles. Some of my most favorite art iIve found has been in my gorgeous tie-dye & shibori pieces. While I would love to claim the skills that these amazing artists have …I can’t possibly come close to their expertise, though I greatly benefit from their mastery.  With years and years of experience being master dyers, we have been able to utilize their art in a creative approach to tie-dye and shibori textile art. I find that I may have a bit of an initial vision for what I want, and of course, I have strong opinions about colors, but if I just get out of the way, and let them “do their thing,” the results are pretty much 100%. And even where I may question a color ensemble, it usually ends up being someone’s cup of tea, so I just let the art be what it is and find its way to where it wants to be.

Artistic pieces like this have a life of their own …as they speak the language of Universal Creation. Not only are they individual art, they are the personality and soul of the artist bringing them forth in the world. The fact that I get to turn that into a garment, accessory or interior design application is music to my own soul.
