May Barware, Etched Crystal Margarita Coupes

Hey Y'all ...what a find this set of etched beauties! I saw these and knew immediately they would be a perfect addition to a growing barware collection. The perfect size for cocktails traditionally served in coupes …but also large enough to accommodate lovely frozen drinks like daiquiris and margaritas! I myself am on a bit of a mezcal kick right now (because why not), so I worked on a fab Mezcal Margarita recipe for this month’s barware post.

Summer cocktails should be easy, low maintenance …and readily available with simple things you have on hand. Traditional margs actually come from a sidecar recipe from France …and easily made with the same formula … only subbing tequila (or in this case, mezcal) for the cognac. They both have a citrus liqueur component, and a citrus or fruit garnish. Broken into three ingredients, they are quite easy to make. These gorgeous glasses are perfect for this fun twist on a traditional margarita … a lovely oversized coupe shape, but a short enough stem to comfortably handle a frozen cocktail. Check out the website for the recipe!

Fabulous, etched crystal coupe classes about 5" tall with a 6 oz capacity ...a set of 8, beautiful for any bar. $128 (one of a kind)

Recipe:

1-1/2 ounces of your favorite mezcal

1/2 ounce of citrus liquor (Cointreau, Grand Marnier)

freshly squeezed lime juice (to your taste)

Splash of Pomegranate liqueur (Like Pama)

garnish with sliced limes

Shake mezcal, citrus liqueur, lime juice, pama, and ice, and strain for a rocks marg, or blend in blender for a frozen marg.
